Enter a Manual Check

To enter a manual (handwritten) check, you need to:

  1. From the Tasks menu, do one of the following:
  2. Enter or select the vendor ID that you want to pay. To display a list of existing vendors, type ? in this field, or select the Lookup button.
  3. Enter or select the check date.
  4. Enter the check number in the Check/Reference Number field.

    Sage 50 considers all payments with a check/reference number assigned as printed. If you print the check with a check/reference number already assigned, the word "Duplicate" will appear on the check.

  5. Select Check as the Payment Method.
  6. Enter the payment information the same way that you enter regular payments.
  7. When you're done, click Save.
