BegData Conversion Wizard - Confirm Company
The Confirm Company to Convert window of the Data Conversion wizard identifies the name and location of the company you are about to convert as well as which version you are converting.
- After you confirm the company you are about to convert, click Next. If your company is not using the SmartPosting posting method, the Data Conversion Wizard - Switch to SmartPosting window will display. Otherwise, the Data Conversion Wizard - Back Up window will display.
Company Name:
This section displays the company name entered previously in the Maintain Company Information window as well as the following fields:
- Location: Identifies the folder (directory) where your company data is located. Typically your company is in a subfolder of \Program Files\Sage\Peachtree. For example, the sample company, Bellwether Garden Supply, is located in the \BCS subfolder. The name of your company data folder is an abbreviation of your company name and is created during the New Company Setup process.
- Product: Specifies which Sage 50 product format your older company used (for example, Sage 50 Pro Accounting or Sage 50 Premium Accounting).
- Version: Identifies the current version of your company data, which must be updated. The version number corresponds to the Sage 50 product number. The first number is the Release number (for example 19.0); the remaining numbers indicate the build that was previously installed. As software updates become available and are installed, these numbers change.

This section identifies the product and version currently installed on your computer and what you are about to convert to.
Note: Sage 50's Data Conversion wizard only works for company data established in prior Sage 50 releases of equal or lesser versions. For example, you cannot convert a Sage 50 Premium Accounting company (full-featured version) to the Pro Accounting format (entry-level version), even if that Pro Accounting format is newer.
