Sage 50 allows you to create a new purchase by copying an existing one.
What is the difference between copying and recurring a transaction?
- When you copy a transaction, you create one copy of the transaction that is displayed.
- When you recur a transaction, you create the same transaction again over a set interval of time. For example, weekly for 6 weeks or monthly for 12 months. Tell me how.
To copy a purchase from the Purchases screen:
- Go to Tasks>Purchase/Receive Inventory.
- Click the List button.
- Open the purchase you want to copy.
- Click the Copy button.
- The new purchase appears on the screen.
- Add or edit the information on the purchase as necessary.
- Click Save.

How?
- Go to
- Select the purchase you want to copy.
- Click the Copy button.
- The new purchase opens on the Purchases screen.
- Add or edit the information on the purchase as necessary.
- Click Save.
Note: You can also right-click on a purchase in the list to choose to copy it.
What information is copied?
Only the following information from the original purchase will be copied to the new purchase:
- Vendor
- Remit to information
- Ship to information
- Drop ship designation
- Waiting on Bill designation
- Terms
- Ship via information
- A/P Account
- Line items
- Information on Withhold Retainage tab (Sage 50 Quantum Accounting)
- Notes
Note: If the original purchase contains serialized items, the serial numbers will not be copied. (Sage 50 Premium Accounting and higher)
If the original purchase has attachments, the attachments are not copied.
Information on the Track It panel is not copied. (Sage 50 Quantum Accounting)
