Using the Time Ticket Timer

You can time an activity by using the timer.

  • To start tracking time for an activity, click Start Timer. The Duration field will record the time in second intervals.
  • To stop tracking time for an activity, click Stop Timer.

You can start the timer again to continue clocking the duration. This is a good idea if you want to record multiple interruptions in the activity, such as lunch or an unexpected phone call.

After the timer is stopped, you can manually change the duration, if necessary.

Time Ticket Timer Restrictions

There are a few time ticket restrictions you should be aware of while the timer is running.

  • You cannot save the time ticket or close the Time Ticket window while the timer is running.
  • You cannot close this company or exit Sage 50 while the timer is running.
  • You can only have one timer running on a workstation at one time.
  • If you are operating on a network, other users will not be able to access a time ticket that is actively running on your workstation. Likewise, no one else will be able to apply the time-ticket hours to payroll or sales/invoicing.

Tip: If you need to keep the timer running in the background while you perform other Sage 50 activities, you can minimize the window by clicking Minimize in the upper-right corner of the window. To reduce the Time Ticket window to an icon on your Sage 50 desktop, click Minimize. To restore the window, double-click the Time Ticket icon.
