Delete an Inventory Item

You cannot delete an inventory item if it is used in a transaction or has an established beginning balance. If that is the case, you can make the item inactive to designate that it shouldn't be used and make it eligible for purging. To do this, select the inactive checkbox and save the item.

To delete an item:

  1. Click the Inventory Items navigation aid on the Inventory & Services Navigation Center and select New Inventory Item.
  2. Enter or select the ID of the item you want to delete. To display a list of existing items, type ? in this field, or select the Lookup button.
  3. Select the Delete button. The system displays a warning message, asking if you're sure you want to remove this record.
  4. Select Yes.
