Use this window to set up a new sales tax. Here, you will specify the total rate that you will charge and how many individual rates make up the total rate.
- What is the total rate that you will charge?: The number you put here should be the total of all individual taxing agencies. For instance, if you have a state agency that charges 4% and a county agency that charges 2%, you would enter 6 in this field.
If one or more of the taxing agencies charges sales tax based on a formula of some sort, leave this field blank.
- How many individual rates make up this total rate: Here, specify the number of agencies that make up this sales tax. For instance, in the example above, where there is a state tax and a county tax, you would enter 2 here.
