Send an Email Message to a Vendor

To generate email messages in Sage 50, you must have a MAPI-compliant, default email application installed on your computer or have set up a webmail account.

MAPI Compliant is an acronym for Message Application Program Interface. MAPI-compliant means that your email application complies with Microsoft Windows standards for connecting to other programs, email, and phone systems. Examples of MAPI-compliant email applications are Outlook, and Mozilla Thunderbird. Examples of non-MAPI-compliant email applications are Microsoft Outlook 365, Gmail, and Yahoo.

  1. From the Maintain menu, select Vendors.
  2. Enter or select the vendor to whom you want to send the message. To display a list of existing vendors, select the drop-down arrow on the Vendor ID field.
  3. If you have not already done so, enter the vendor's email address on the General tab.
  4. Click the Email button to the right of the Email field. Your default email program will start with this address applied in a new message.
