Perform a Server-Only Installation of Sage 50 Accounting

To complete a server-only installation so you can store and share your company data on a network:

Note: You must be an administrator for this computer to install Sage 50 Accounting. The Sage 50 Accounting Connection Manager cannot be installed on a network-attached storage unit or network drive.

  1. Insert the Sage 50 Accounting disc into your computer. When the launch window opens click Install Sage 50 Accounting.
  2. If the launch window doesn't open, open the Windows Start menu and select Run. Type D:LAUNCH in the Open box and click OK (Substitute your optical disc drive letter if it isn't D:).

  3. (Optional) Select your language preference.
  4. Select the Type of installation and then click Next:
    • Advanced. Allows you to select which components to install and leave out or perform a server-only installation. Recommended for advanced users only.
  5. Select Server-only so you can install the components that are required to store Sage 50 data and successfully share it with other computers.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Review your installation choices in the Installation summary. If you need to make any changes, use the Back button to get to the correct window. Otherwise, click Next to proceed with the installation.
  8. Read the Licence Agreement and click I Agree to continue.
  9. Click Install.
  10. (Optional) If you have the Windows Firewall turned on, click Yes to let Sage 50 Accounting automatically set up your firewall options. If you click No, or if you have a different firewall installed, you will need to configure your firewall permissions manually for Sage 50 Accounting. Consult our online knowledgebase for additional information about configuring your firewall.
  11. Click Finish once the installation is complete.
  12. (Optional) Restart your computer.
