Place a Background Image on a Form

How do I

You can place a graphic onto your form to use as a background image or watermark. To do this, add your image to the form and make sure the order number of the image is 1 (or lower than all the other order numbers of objects).

Note: Background images, like other graphic objects, may slow down the printing process because they use the graphics capabilities of your printer.

  1. The image should be formatted for inclusion as a background image on the form. The size of the image should match the form, and all white space around the image should be cropped out. Colors must be faint enough so that other text on the form is readable.
  2. Display a form in the Forms Design window.
  3. Add the image to the form. Bitmap, JPEG, and GIF files are typical image files.
  4. The image should appear on the form.
  5. Select the image and move it to the desired location on the form using the mouse or the arrow keys. You should keep resizing to a minimum, as it may distort the image. The image may appear to cover up other objects on the form at this point.
  6. Right click on the image.
  7. Select Order from the right click menu.
  8. The object (image) should be highlighted in the order list.
  9. Use the Move Object arrow keys to move the object up until it is the first object in the order list. This ensures that the image will print in the background on the form.
  10. Click OK..
  11. Click Save to save the form with the background image.
