Moving Around in the Payroll Setup Wizard

The Payroll Setup wizard walks you through setting up most payroll defaults and standard payroll fields. As you answer the prompts in the wizard, Sage 50 will create most of the common payroll fields used in calculating benefits, deductions, and taxes.

Note: Taxes, deductions, and benefits can only be calculated in Sage 50 if you have a subscription to a Sage Business Care plan (Gold or Platinum) or a monthly subscription. Otherwise, you will still set them up using the Payroll Setup wizard, but you will have to manually calculate and enter the amounts.

The left pane of the Payroll Setup wizard lets you know where you are along the path of setting up your payroll. You can jump to a different section at any time.

Click the Back and Next buttons to move to the previous or next step in the wizard.

Not Ready Yet?

When you are first setting up payroll, you might not have all the information you need. If you are not sure of certain payroll setup options, you don't have to work all the way through the Payroll Setup wizard. Instead, you can click the Save for Later button on any window in the wizard and then return to it to at a later time to complete payroll setup.
