Change a user's password and access rights
On the Sage Partners tab, you can choose a security level that determines how Sage Partner applications interface with your Sage 50 data.
You can set the level of security on Low, Medium, or High.
- The Low setting allows all Sage Partner applications to run automatically. Sage Partner programs will be able to exchange data with your Sage 50 database without prompting you.
- With Medium security, when you start a Sage Partner application you will receive a warning message that allows you to choose whether or not you want the application to run. This is the default and recommended setting.
- If you choose the High level of security, Sage Partner applications will not run.
Note: If you change the security level while you already have a Sage Partner application running, the new setting will not affect the Sage Partner application until it is restarted.
Important! If you use company passwords and limit access to certain areas of Sage 50, make sure the access level is set to Full for the SDK Data Access area. (This security area is in the Company/Tasks area of the User Security window.) If you have the SDK Data Access area set to No Access, you will not be able to run Sage Partner applications, regardless of which security level you selected in Global Options.
