Memorize Existing Transactions
Use this procedure to record an existing transaction for later use. For example, you can memorize an existing sales invoice and use it for other customers. Sage 50 can memorize and store quotes, sales invoices, purchase orders, payments, or General Journal entries.
- From the Tasks menu, select the type of transaction you want to memorize.
- In the corresponding task window (for example Sales/Invoicing), click the List button, then select an existing transaction. Tell me more about looking up or editing existing transactions.
Note: You can also enter new transaction data in the task window, if desired.
- With the transaction information displayed, select the drop-down arrow next to the Copy button and choose
Memorize for future use. Sage 50 displays the corresponding Maintain Memorized Transaction window
along with the recorded transaction data.
Note: If the transaction screen does not have a Copy button, select the drop-down arrow next to the Save button and choose Memorize.
- Enter a transaction ID
and description
that easily identifies the transaction for later use.
Transaction ID
Enter up to 20 alphanumeric characters for a new memorized transaction ID. You cannot use *, ?, or + in the code. For existing memorized transactions, you can look up the transaction you want.
The code is case sensitive, so that codes A1 and a1 are seen as two different transaction IDs. Numbers sort before letters, and capital letters sort before non-capital letters. It's important to use consistent and logical coding. You might want to code your most popular items so that they will appear first.
DescriptionEnter up to 30 alphanumeric characters that describe the memorized transaction. Sage 50 displays the description in the Memorized Transaction lookup list box.
- When finished, select Save to record the memorized transaction.
