Design a Task Window Template
Use this procedure to create a new customized task window template.
- From the appropriate task window, select the Layout button. A pull-down menu appears.
-
Select the Customize <task window> Layout option from the pull-down menu. Sage 50 displays the Maintain Templates window that corresponds to the task.
The template selected is the one currently in use in the previous task window.
- Click the New button to create a new template design.
-
Enter the template name and description for your new template.
Template NameThis is a name of the template that will identify it for later use and appears in the Layout pull-down menu. Enter up to 20 alphanumeric characters for a new template name. You cannot use *, ?, or + in the name. The name is not case sensitive, so that A1 and a1 would be seen as the same template name. Numbers sort before letters. It's important to use consistent and logical naming. You might want to name your most popular templates so that they will appear first.
Template DescriptionThis is text used to describe the template that Sage 50 displays in the Template Name lookup list. Enter up to 30 alphanumeric characters.
If available, choose the form you want to use to print the transaction when using this template.
-
In the Entry Screen column of the Add/Remove Fields & Columns section, check the checkboxes for any fields that you want to appear on the entry screen. Uncheck the checkboxes for any fields that you do not want to appear on the entry screen.
If a checkbox is disabled, it means you cannot add or remove this field from the entry screen.
-
When you have finished choosing the fields you want to add or remove, click the Save button.
Note: If you have the option to select a printed form to use with this template, you can customize that form at the same time that you are designing the entry screen. How do I design forms from this screen?
- After saving the template, close the window.
