Selecting Open Transactions vs. Historical Transactions (Cash Flow Manager)
If you select Open Transactions, Sage 50 will display all currently open transactions for the Time Frame selected. This includes unpaid invoices and purchases, recent payrolls, receipts, credit memos, and such.
If you select Historical Transactions, you can then select a range of past transactions that you want to display. You can use past transaction data from the last 12 months to create a projection. For example, if you select a Time frame of next 14 days, transactions for this same time last year will be used to create the projection. If your business is seasonal or sales and bills fluctuate a lot, you might use historical to get a more accurate projection.
Note: If you have purged transactions during the Purge routine, you may not have data for prior year cash flow statements.
Below is a table summarizing the differences between Open and Historical transactions:
Open | Historical | |
---|---|---|
Can I save the projection? | Yes | No |
What does it show me? | Current and future transactions | Past transactions |
Can I change display options? | Yes. You can choose which transaction types you want to display. | No. Transaction types are fixed and summarized. |
