How do I get started with e-Filing?
There are two steps to registering for the e-filing service:
1. Enroll with Aatrix.
2. Update your Sage 50 subscription
Step 1: Enroll with Aatrix
Begin the enrollment process in one of the following ways:
- From any confirmation emails you received from Sage, click the link to go to the Aatrix Enrollment form.
- Access the Products and Services page for Payroll Solutions and click the link. To do so, select Services from the menu in Sage 50. Then, click Payroll Solutions.
- Finally, you can sign up within Sage 50 when you have a form ready to send.
- Once you are at the Payroll eFile Center on the Aatrix web site, click Not Enrolled? Click here.
- Read carefully and complete the information on the next four screens. A progress bar at the top helps you know how much you have yet to complete.
- Note that not all of the information is required. It all depends on how you want to pay your obligations to the government.
- Print, complete, and fax back the Aatrix eFile Authorization Form. You MUST complete this step before your enrollment is complete!
After you fax in the Authorization form, you will receive an email confirmation from Aatrix that your enrollment is complete. Now you are ready to file electronically.
Step 2: Update your Sage 50 subscription
To start using e-Filing you will need to update your subscription information in the product.
- From Sage 50's Help menu, select Sage 50 Subscription Updates or go to Help, Sage 50 Activation, Licensing, and Subscription, and select Refresh my Sage 50 subscription options. If you have not activated your Sage 50 product, you will be prompted to activate it. This is required before using the tax service.
- Once you have completed this process. Sage 50's payroll system will now use Sage 50 tax formulas when calculating and processing your employee paychecks. You will also gain access to the Sage-Maintained and User-Maintained Payroll Formulas for the current payroll year.
Note: The payroll tax service is applicable to your entire business organization. All users connected to your business's network will gain access to Sage 50's tax formulas, even if you have set up multiple Sage 50 companies. However, tax formulas and e-Filing is required for each business organization. You cannot share Sage-maintained tax formulas with another business.
