Install Sage 50 Accounting on your computer
Sage 50 has different installation options.
To perform a Typical Installation of Sage 50 Accounting with an installation disc:
- Insert the Sage 50 Accounting disc into your computer. Double-click
SA_202000CP1.exe to extract Sage 50 installation files.When the launch window, opens click Install Sage 50. - (Optional) Select your language preference.
- Read the Licence Agreement and select the I Agree check box.
- (Optional) Clear the check box for the desktop shortcut to the Sage Support Resource Centre, a library of resources to help you get the most out of your software.
- (Optional) If you have the Windows Firewall turned on, click Yes to let Sage 50 Accounting automatically set up your firewall options. If you click No, or if you have a different firewall installed, you will need to configure your firewall permissions manually for Sage 50 Accounting. Consult our online knowledgebase for additional information about configuring your firewall.
- Select the Type of installation and then click Next:
- Typical. Installs everything you need to use all of the features available in your edition of Sage 50 Accounting. This is the recommended installation choice.
- Enter your serial number.
Note: If you choose to install the 30-day trial version, click Next to select the product you want to use for the trial period. Then, click Install.
- Click Install.
- (Optional) Select Open Sage 50 Accounting.
- (Optional) Select View product information in the README. This file may contain release notes that are not included in the online help.
- (Optional) Select Learn how to configure Windows and folders so I can share company data with other Sage 50 Accounting users.
- Click Finish.
- (Optional) Restart your computer.
If the launch window doesn't open, open the Windows Start menu and select Run. Type D:LAUNCH in the Open box and click OK (Substitute your optical disc drive letter if it isn't D:).
To perform an Advanced Installation (Custom) of Sage 50 Accounting with an installation disc:
- Insert the Sage 50 Accounting disc into your computer. When the launch window opens click Install Sage 50 Accounting.
- (Optional) Select your language preference.
- Read the Licence Agreement and select the I Agree check box.
- (Optional) If you have the Windows Firewall turned on, click Yes to let Sage 50 Accounting automatically set up your firewall options. If you click No, or if you have a different firewall installed, you will need to configure your firewall permissions manually for Sage 50 Accounting. Consult our online knowledgebase for additional information about configuring your firewall.
- Select the Type of installation and then click Next:
- Advanced. Allows you to select which components to install and leave out or perform a server-only installation. Recommended for advanced users only.
- Select Custom and then click Next. You can select the components to install.
- Enter your serial number.
Note: If you choose to install the 30-day trial version, click Next to select the product you want to use for the trial period. Then, click Install.
- (Optional) Choose which components you want to install.
- (Optional) Select the folder into which Sage 50 Accounting will be installed:
- If you want to change the default folder for the new installation, click Browse and then locate and select the folder in which Sage 50 Accounting should be installed. Click OK and then click Next.
- (Optional) Select the Add a shortcut to my desktop check box.
- Review your installation choices in the Installation summary. If you need to make any changes, click the Back button to get to the correct window.
- Click Install.
- (Optional) Select Open Sage 50 Accounting.
- (Optional) Select View product information in the README. This file may contain release notes that are not included in the online help.
- (Optional) Select Learn how to configure Windows and folders so I can share company data with other Sage 50 Accounting users.
- Click Finish.
- (Optional) Restart your computer.
If the launch window doesn't open, open the Windows Start menu and select Run. Type D:LAUNCH in the Open box and click OK (Substitute your optical disc drive letter if it isn't D:).
To install or remove features after you have installed Sage 50 Accounting
You can install and remove Sage 50 Accounting features on your computer at any time.
- If Sage 50 Accounting is running on your computer, close it.
- Insert the Sage 50 Accounting disk into your computer, or, double-click the file Sage50.exe.
- Select Install Sage 50.
- Select Add/Remove Program Components and click Next.
- Select the features that you want to install on your computer, or clear the selection box next to the features you want to remove.
- (Optional) If the Change button becomes active when you select your feature, click it to further customize the feature.
- Click Next.
- Click OK.
