Set Up the Windows Firewall for Sage 50 Accounting

To configure your firewall to work with Sage 50 Accounting:

  1. Click the Windows search bar and type firewall.
  2. Click Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall on the left side.
  3. If Sage 50 Accounting is not in the Allowed apps and features list, click Allow another app.
  4. Select Sage 50 Accounting from the list and click Add.

    5. Note: If Sage 50 Accounting does not appear in the Add a Program list, click Browse to locate Sage50Accounting.exe in your Sage 50 Accounting installation folder, click Open and then Add. The default installation folder is C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution] [Year].

  5. Repeat the steps above for each of the following processes:
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution]\Sage50Accounting.exe
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution]\SageUpgrader.exe
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution]\Sage_SA_Email.exe
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution]\TST\Sage_SA_TST.exe
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution]\Sage_SA_ODriveSync.exe
    • Program Files (x86)\winsim\ConnectionManager\SimplyConnectionManager.exe.
    • Program Files (x86)\winsim\ConnectionManager\Simply.SystemTrayIcon.exe
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution]\dbverifier\Sage_SA_DBVerifier.exe
    • Program Files (x86)\winsim\ConnectionManager\MySqlBinary\8.0.27\mysql\mysqladmin.exe

  6. Click OK.

  1. Open the Start menu, select Control Panel, and then select System and Security.
  2. Click Allow an app through Windows Firewall.
  3. If Sage 50 Accounting is not in the list under Allowed apps and features, then click Allow another app.
  4. In the Add an app dialog box, find and select Sage 50 Accounting in the list.

    5. You can also click Browse to locate Sage50Accounting.exe in your Sage 50 Accounting installation folder. Click Open and then Add. The default installation folder is C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution] [Year].

  5. Repeat the steps above for each of the following processes:
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution]\Sage50Accounting.exe
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution]\SageUpgrader.exe
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution]\Sage_SA_Email.exe

  6. Repeat the steps above for each of the following processes:
