Using Sage 50 Accounting with a Firewall
Software firewalls are intended to prevent unauthorized access to your computer and unauthorized programs on your computer from accessing the Internet or your company's network.
Sage 50 Accounting installs several processes that you need to add to your firewall's list of permitted programs:
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution]\Sage50Accounting.exe
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution]\SageUpgrader.exe
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution]\Sage_SA_Email.exe
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution]\TST\Sage_SA_TST.exe
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution]\Sage_SA_ODriveSync.exe
- Program Files (x86)\winsim\ConnectionManager\SimplyConnectionManager.exe.

- Program Files (x86)\winsim\ConnectionManager\MySqlBinary\5.7.27\mysql\mysqldump.exe
- Program Files (x86)\winsim\ConnectionManager\MySqlBinary\5.7.27\mysql\mysqld.exe
Note: If you chose a different install location other than the default program files location, substitute your custom location for C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution].
These processes are required to allow Sage 50 Accounting to communicate with the database in which your company information is stored and to notify you when product updates are available.
If you are using Windows Firewall and clicked Yes when prompted to automatically set up your firewall to work with Sage 50 Accounting, these processes have already been added to your list of permitted programs.
Consult our online knowledgebase or your firewall's documentation for detailed instructions about adding these processes manually to your list of permitted programs.
