The FIFO Inventory Costing Report

The FIFO Inventory Costing report shows you each cost layer for an item. The report includes the on-hand number, the unit cost, and total value and the average cost of the item in the layer. Locations are also provided if you have the feature turned on.

Layers are identified by transaction type:

• Purchases - PUR
• Sales - SAL
• Adjustments - ADJ
• Item Assembly or Bill of Material builds - ASM
• Transfers - TRF

When you switch to FIFO costing, each of your existing inventory items are added to a cost layer. This layer appears as CONV (converted) in the FIFO Costing report.

This report only shows layers that still contain inventory you can sell.
