Set Up the Windows Firewall for Sage 50 Accounting

To configure your firewall to work with Sage 50 Accounting:

  1. Open the Start menu, select Control Panel, System and Security, Windows Firewall, and then Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall.
  2. If Sage 50 Accounting is not in the Allowed Programs and Features list, click Change Settings.
  3. Click Allow Another Program, and select Sage 50 Accounting from the list and click Add.

    4. If Sage 50 Accounting does not appear in the Add a Program list, click Browse to locate Sage50Accounting.exe in your Sage 50 Accounting installation folder, click Open and then OK. The default installation folder is C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution] [Year].

  4. Repeat the steps above for each of the following processes:
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution]\Sage50Accounting.exe
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution]\SageUpgrader.exe
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution]\Sage_SA_Email.exe
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution]\TST\Sage_SA_TST.exe
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution]\Sage_SA_ODriveSync.exe
    • Program Files (x86)\winsim\ConnectionManager\SimplyConnectionManager.exe.

  1. Click Start and type firewall.
  2. Click Windows Defender Firewall.
  3. Click Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall on the left side.
  4. If Sage 50 Accounting is not in the Allowed apps and features list, click Allow another app.
  5. Select Sage 50 Accounting from the list and click Add.

    6. Note: If Sage 50 Accounting does not appear in the Add a Program list, click Browse to locate Sage50Accounting.exe in your Sage 50 Accounting installation folder, click Open and then Add. The default installation folder is C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution] [Year].

  6. Repeat the steps above for each of the following processes:
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution]\Sage50Accounting.exe
