About merging records

To merge two accounts in a company:

  1. In the Home window, on the Maintenance menu, choose Merge Records.
  2. (Optional) Make a backup of your company data.
  3. In the Select Record Type window, select Accounts and click Next.
  4. Select the accounts you want to merge, and click Next.
  5. Note: The Merge From record will no longer exist after the accounts are merged.

  6. If the selected accounts cannot be merged because they have duplicate numbers, click Print to save the list of numbers. These numbers must be eliminated before the accounts can be merged.
  7. (Optional) To merge other accounts, click Merge Another Record.
  8. Click Finish to close the wizard.
