Revenue Account Classes

The revenues account group refers to money earned by the company.

Each account group in Sage 50 Accounting can be further divided into account classes. All accounts grouped from 4000 to 4999 are revenue. Unless your accountant specifies otherwise, use the default account group Revenue.

Account Class Description
Revenue A generic revenue account that covers all revenues.
Operating Revenue Revenue earned as part of the company's regular business.
Non-Operating Revenue Revenue earned outside of the regular operation of a business.
Farming Revenue Revenue earned as a part of farming.
Other Revenue Any revenue that does not fit into any of the above categories.
Gain Amounts gained from the sale of a fixed asset that results in a profit, such as the sale of a building.
Extraordinary Gain Amounts gained from activities over which the business has no control.
